With so many students taking Economics as a subject for the first time at A-Level, how do we design a curriculum that meets the specific challenges of the subject?

This Economics Teachers' Staffroom episode sees Jon in conversation with experienced economics teachers who discuss and make recommendations on the topic of designing an effective Year 12 curriculum.

Here, Jon is joined by Helen Gordon, Lisa Newton, Ruth Tarrant and George Vlachonikolis

The panel are asked the following questions:

• What do you assume in the way of prior knowledge or awareness, if anything?

• How closely do you keep to the official specification? Why have you chosen this approach?

• How do help students to prepare for Year 13?

• What are the biggest challenges in designing an effective Year 12 curriculum?
