Competition Policy - Mega Publishing Merger is Blocked

Mergers and takeovers are rarely blocked, so this is a good example to add to your Year 13 microeconomics notes on monopoly and competition in markets.
The US courts have, initially blocked the proposed merger between publishing giants Penguin and Simon & Schuster, arguing that the deal could substantially reduce competition in the sector to the detriment of consumers.
It seems as though the Biden Presidency has sought to promote more pro-active competition policy.
