The following statistics were published by Young Minds and highlight some of the issues surrounding mental health in children and young people.
95%
95% Of young offenders in prison have a mental health disorder.
68%
There has been a 68% increase in the number of young people being admitted to hospital as a result of self-half in the last ten years.
50%
50% of adults with mental health problems were diagnosed with children.
80,000
There are 80,000 children who are diagnosed with severe depression in the UK.
1 in 10
One in ten children between 5-16 suffers from a diagnosable mental health condition.
