Just read this article via Yahoo news, “Pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been allowed to walk to freedom from house arrest amid massive cheers from supporters, Amnesty International has said.” She has spent many years under house arrest and in 1990 was awarded the Nobel Peace prize. This is big news and comes after the country’s first elections in 20 years where the ruling military junta won a landslide victory much criticised for being manipulated in favour of the pro-military party.
