Earlier this month, the government issued new demands on universities to improve their links with schools in poor areas and specifically requiring them to target white working-class boys in particular to boost their participation in HE. Why is this group under-represented in HE?

Ruth has been Subject Lead in Economics at tutor2u for many years after a career of teaching Economics, Business, Politics and Maths in a range of secondary schools.
