Primary Data

Primary data, in sociology, refers to data that has been generated by the researcher themselves. For example, they may have conducted a questionnaire or a series of interviews, or they might have carried out an observation or experiment. This is in contrast with secondary data which is data that already exists (such as existing research or official statistics).
