Neo-liberalism is an economic philosophy rather than a sociological perspective, but it makes an important contribution to debates about global development and features in that module in A Level sociology. It is an economic theory that prioritises free markets, minimal government intervention in the economy and free trade between nations (without tariffs). It is a fundamental element of the New Right perspective.
