Four in 10 pupils have had little contact with teachers during lockdown

The National Foundation of Educational Research (NFER) has found that 4/10 pupils in England have not been in regular contact with their teachers during school's closure in the UK.
The organisation found that those pupils who are most disadvantaged "were the least likely to be engaged with remote learning." One explanation for the results it has been argued is that there is a digital divide in home study. 1/5 children who receive free school meals had no access to a computer at home.
This article could be used for the Education unit (social class), and the Media (the new media and their significance for an understanding of the role of the media in contemporary society)
