Section B – Biopsychology: Q7 [2 Marks]
Quantitative data can oversimplify reality. In this study, the carers might be asked to rate the effectiveness of physiotherapy on a scale (e.g. 1 = not very effective to 5 = highly effective) which forces the carers to select a pre-determined answer. This means that the quantitative data obtained does not provide an insight into how/why they find the therapy effective which may be more useful to psychologists.
