Section A – Social: Q1 [2 Marks]
The type of data is quantitative. This is because the researchers counted the number of participants who did and did not complete the questionnaire in conditions one and two, and quantitative data is numerical data.
Or
The type of data is primary data. This is because the data was collected directly from first-hand experience, and the experimenters recorded the number of participants who did and did not complete the questionnaire in conditions one and two.
Note: I originally went to write ‘nominal’; however, strictly speaking nominal is a ‘level’ of data/measurement. Here was my initial answer: The type of data is nominal. This is because the data collected placed the participants into categories e.g. those who did and those who did not complete the questionnaire in conditions one and two.
