Q&A from AQA: Calculating Statistical Tests
24th February 2017
Below you will find a question and response from AQA in relation to: Calculating Statistical Tests.
Question
Can a student be asked to calculate any statistical test?
Response
"The only test which students may be asked to calculate from first principles is the Sign Test. Your approach so far seems to be the ideal one, as students will not be asked to calculate these tests but may be asked to substitute values into formulae which they are given in the exam e.g. substituting values into a given formula (already set out in the paper) for the Chi-Squared Test, as well as interpreting test results and explaining when and why to use the given tests."
