Flying Start & Grade Booster Student Workshops: Week 2
27th March 2017
Last week was a busy week for the Psychology Team with student conferences taking place in Gateshead, Manchester, Leeds, Exeter and Guernsey.
With over 350 students taking part in Flying Start (Year 12) and 900 taking part in Grade Booster (Year 13), the Psychology Team met over 1,000 teachers and students, and this week is even busier!
So far, the feedback has been stunning:
A big 'thank you' for a wonderful event at the Flying Start & Grade Booster Workshops today in Exeter. 17 of our YR12s attended and REALLY enjoyed themselves. The activities were brilliant and really kick started their revision. It was a real confidence boost for the students. They have all left with confidence, a brilliant revision booklet and heaps of exam advice. They won lots of prizes too! For anyone thinking about attending my advice: Book those tickets, it's well worth it!
It's the little things that get addressed in Grade Booster that make all the difference, e.g. gaining high marks for the awful 'design your own study' question; tackling issues and debates, e.g. which one to use and when. The Biopsychology section was very useful too as that topic always causes problems! By tackling the minor details, the higher marks can be achieved, and I think these guys did that well. I hope you get to go.
This week the Flying Start and Grade Booster tour continues. We're visiting:
- SOUTHAMPTON (VUE EASTLEIGH) - Monday 27 March
- LONDON (WESTFIELD STRATFORD) - Tuesday 28 March
- BRISTOL (VUE CRIBBS CAUSEWAY) - Thursday 30 March
- BIRMINGHAM (VUE STAR CITY) - Friday 31 March
