ABOUT THIS SIMULATION

The First 100 Days is a role-playing simulation for A-Level Politics students, placing them in the shoes of a newly elected UK Prime Minister. This tool models path dependency: early decisions (like Cabinet appointments or fiscal borrowing) create constraints or crises that manifest weeks later, mirroring the real-world complexity of executive governance.

Students must balance five competing metrics - Public Opinion, Party Unity, Manifesto Integrity, Authority, and Economic Stability - while navigating scenarios ranging from NHS funding crises to foreign policy emergencies. The simulation creates a personalised "Leadership Profile" (e.g., Authoritarian vs. Pragmatist) based on their choices. It is an excellent resource for teaching the Executive, Prime Ministerial power, and the tension between political expediency and responsible governance, moving students beyond textbook theory into the messy reality of Number 10.
