The unexpected items that foodbanks need

29th July 2022
Food banks have become an essential service - in the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty, including 4.5 million children.
The Trusell Trust supports a nationwide network of over 1,300 food banks, staffed and supported by over 28,000 volunteers.
In April, the Trust shared the grim news that the food banks in their network gave out 2.1 million food parcels to people facing hardship between April 2021 and March 2022. 830,000 of these were given to children.
But do you know what items they require?
When you think of donating to a food bank, you may think of giving pasta, tinned food or cereal. 🥫
