Inequality of access to the GP service

Research carried out by the University of Cambridge for the BBC had shown that the most deprived areas have the fewest GPs.

The article - Poorer areas in England suffer most from GP shortage, study finds - discusses the unequal distribution of GP practices, as illustrated in this graphic:

The article also reveals that GP practices in the most deprived areas are more likely to have the worst CQC ratings of "inadequate" and "requires improvement" than those serving patients who live in the most affluent (wealthy) areas.
