Madrid bans polluting vehicles from the city centre

Madrid leads the way in its efforts to reduce pollution in its city by banning any petrol vehicle registered before 2000 and diesel vehicle registered before 2006 from entering the city.
The aim of the strategy, known as "Madrid Central", is to reduce nitrogen dioxide levels by 23% by 2020. This is the boldest move of any European city and its focus is to improve health as well as the air quality. For more information on this report, check out the following article:
