UN agrees to help reduce ocean plastic waste
5th December 2017
Despite the proposal from the UN not being legally binding; environmental groups see this landmark announcement as a pivotal change that will lead to future action.
The UN resolution will be signed off tomorrow and will hopefully instigate future talks between nations about the impact their plastic waste is having on the oceans.
Both countries and TNC s need to be involved in the reduction of ocean plastic if the amount is to reduce and long term environmental problems are to be tackled. Check out the following news report with more information on the issue.
