In California and Australia investors can now bet on the cost of water.

This FT video looks at the commodification of water in California and Australia and the development of forward markets for water. California and Australia are now allowing investors to bet on the fluctuating cost of water.

It's a thought-provoking clip, not least because it raises some interesting issues: property rights, the UK's privatisation of water, and pollution.
