Tech Solutions Helping Kenyan Fishing Communities

This BBC video looks at how a tech entrepreneur has provided a high tech solution to the distribution problems of the fishermen of Lake Turkana, via solar-powered fridges and smart distribution solutions. His company Keep IT Cool (KIC) has revolutionised the market, using a digital market - Markiti - to connect fishermen and potential buyers in Nairobi, nearly 700km away. The net result is a reduction in waste in the supply chain and greater efficiency, with fishermen only catching what's required and even using the offcuts in a sustainable fashion. What's not to like.
