Dyson’s profits almost halved amid weak demand and high costs.

Dyson’s pre-tax profits plunged by roughly 47 percent after revenue fell by more than £500 million to £6.5 billion, driven by sluggish consumer confidence and soft demand in key markets. Rising operating costs—partly from a reorganisation and job cuts—and one-off expenses exacerbated the squeeze on profit margins. Additionally, weaker Asian currencies reduced the value of Dyson’s overseas earnings when converted back into sterling, meaning repatriated profits were significantly lower.
