The distraction and the emotion of the attention economy is explored in this superb video from David Grossman of BBC Newsnight.

The video discusses some of the techniques used by digital giants such as Facebook and Twitter to keep people glued to their screens and therefore maximise the potential from advertising revenue. An excellent primer on some aspects of behavioural economics including loss aversion and the choices we make in hot and cold emotional states.
