Here is Tim Harford's short piece on The Factory - in series two of fifty things that made the modern economy. Factories are changing and scaling to almost unprecedented sizes. But the increase in scale is not the only aspect of changing factory life and work. A super piece to add into the enrichment mixture when discussing economic thought. A hat tip to Pete Shelley for flagging up this great resource. Here is the link for downloading all of the broadcast episodes.
