Building a more resilient future

22nd March 2020
My article of the day comes from Anthony Painter at the RSA who has long been a supporter of some form of universal basic income.
In this piece he identifies five areas where we can make significant social progress to build more resilient systems as and when we emerge from the pandemic crisis. Academics at the RSA will be building on these initial thoughts so it might be worth bookmarking their website for updates.
The RSA events series is recorded and many superb talks are available on their You Tube channel. The pandemic is revealing structural weaknesses in our economic, financial, social and democratic systems. At this moment of intense radical uncertainty and fragility, it is helpful to point to a more positive future.
