In this activity, students compare three international expansion scenarios and decide how each business should adapt its product, price, place and promotion to suit a new overseas market.

Working collaboratively, students analyse three businesses entering new international markets: a US technology firm expanding into Germany, a UK scooter company entering India and a Swedish sustainable fashion brand targeting the UAE. For each scenario, they assess cultural, economic, legal and infrastructure differences, then recommend adaptations to product, price, place and promotion. Suggested answers support discussion of when businesses should adapt or standardise their marketing mix and which market requires the greatest changes overall.
