A cafe owner has used a negative TripAdvisor complaint to his advantage with a superb piece of 'alternative marketing'
After a customer complained that the cafe's porridge was the worst she had ever tasted the cafe owner created a self-mocking sign which encourages customers to come in and try the 'worst porridge that one woman on TripAdvisor had in her life'
The marketing ploy worked. Comedian Justin Moorhouse captured the sign and posted it on Instagram.
The image soon went viral and the next day the cafe had a queue of people waiting to try 'the worst porridge ever'.
Does this prove that there is no such thing as bad publicity?
