Documentary Suggestion (Part 1): Wedding Days
11th June 2018
Over the course of this week I will providing some recommendations for useful documentaries that are freely available on YouTube. They could be used to either support a particular area within the AQA Sociology Course, or act as extension material to challenge students.
The following documentary explores the timelines of a number of couples who married in 1980. The documentary examines the impact of marriage on the couple in terms of marital expectations, divorce and mortality. This could be used for the Families and Households unit. Also, it could be used to explore some of the different theories within sociology: feminism, functionalism and the New Right.
