US Supreme Court and a potentially fundamental reversal of abortion rights

How what one of the framers of the constitution called the least dangerous branch of government can, in fact, exercise real political power
Article in the i this week brings us up to speed on a potentially momentous development:
"The writing is on the wall for abortion rights afforded to American women by the landmark Roe v Wade ruling of 1973.
It will not be until next summer that the US Supreme Court issues its judgment on the pivotal Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organisation case over the Mississippi law banning abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
But comments on the case this week by the court’s conservative judges leave little room for doubt; they intend to back Mississippi legislation – and thereby fundamentally undermine American women’s right to a termination up to 23 weeks."
