Sensorimotor Stage of cognitive development (Piaget)

The sensorimotor stage of Piaget’s theory takes place between the ages of 0-2. During this stage, children learn by using their senses and through actions. Infants using their reflexes to learn and these are important for the development of schemas. From the age of 8 months, infants learn that objects still exist even when out of sight (object permanence).
