​Foetal alcohol syndrome

Foetal Alcohol Syndrome is the result of alcohol in the mother's blood which is passed to the baby via the placenta. It can affect children if their mother drinks alcohol during pregnancy. Symptoms of foetal alcohol syndrome include head and facial features that are smaller in size and behavioural issues.
