Ensure your students are fully prepared for the synoptic and externally examined assessment of BTEC Tech Award Component 3: Health and Wellbeing.

This immersive simulation puts students in the role of a Health Advisor, challenging them to apply integrated knowledge across the whole qualification.

Vital Signs: The Health Advisor Simulation

About this simulation

Students will accurately interpret physiological indicators (BP, BMI), communicate risks sensitively, and create person-centred action plans (C1, C2). Crucially, they must demonstrate AO4 by distinguishing and effectively managing personal obstacles (emotional wellbeing) and system barriers (financial, geographical) (C3). This resource is essential for developing the application (AO3) and connection (AO4) skills needed for success in the external assessment.

The downloadable Teacher Guide provides more information and mapping to the specification.

Notes:

This simulation is currently in beta testing and may be amended and improved based on classroom feedback and further evaluation.
