Temperate grasslands

Temperate grasslands are ecosystems characterised by grasses and other herbaceous plants. They typically receive more rainfall than desert regions, but not as much as forests.

Temperate grasslands are found in areas with moderate temperatures and are located in the middle latitudes of the earth, between the tropics and the polar regions.

Some examples of temperate grasslands include the North American Great Plains and the Eurasian steppe. These ecosystems support a variety of plant and animal life, including grasses, wildflowers, and a wide range of grassland animals such as bison, antelope, and prairie dogs.
