Plastic waste to be tackled by the UK

Joanne Parkinson

19th December 2017

Michael Gove has outlined a new policy to tackle the growing environmental concern.

Gove's main focus will be to look at reducing the different types pf plastics in circulation and to make it easier for people to recycle plastics.  Too many plastic products are currently not recyclable by many authorities and as many of our products use plastic, high amounts of waste are going into the environment.

What's most concerning is that plastic bottles, which are widely recyclable are still an issue, with only 57% of them currently being recycled.  Other countries with a bottle deposit scheme recycle up to 90%.  Gove is looking at a potential deposit scheme to be set up with major drinks firms,  More information about this subject can be found here...https://www.theguardian.com/en...
