Climate change to trigger increased asylum seekers in Europe
27th December 2017
The study in Science Daily investigates the likelihood that increased asylum seekers in Europe will be directly linked to increased atmospheric temperatures.
Researchers predict that when temperatures increase above 20 degrees the number of asylum applications is likely to go up. It is predicted by the year 2100 that there would be around 660,000 more applications. This is expected due to the impact that increasing temperatures will have on agriculture and the secondary impact on the economy that will result from this.
