We can get such a lot from maps and infographics - far more than one blog can cover. Before I set to work putting a few favourites together, here's a great one for UK earnings.

The most helpful aspect of this UK earnings map is not so much the way in which it shows patterns of earnings across the UK, but adjusts the map to show the density of jobs and earnings too.

This map of the UK's super-rich takes the same approach.

This might be helpful in any discussion of earnings, inequality or social exclusion. Both maps also show how much the London economy dominates the UK; another topic to return to in 2014.
