Portable and digital retailing - Sweden leads the way

Although Amazon has just launched a staff-less store in London, it is Sweden that leads the way, with small grocery chain Lifvs leading the way in rural locations.
Everything about the store takes advantage of technology, even the stores themselves are portable wooden containers, and they are returning to serve small towns without other grocery stores, and they also take advantage of the fact that Sweden is a hugely tech-savvy economy.
Digital identification lies at the heart of the concept. Customers open the doors using the company's app, which in turn, works in conjunction with BankID, a secure national identification app operated by Sweden's commercial banks
