Just Eat acquires Hungry House - Horizontal Integration at work

15th December 2016
Horizontal integration in the fast-growing and increasing competitive home-food delivery market. Just Eat is competing with the likes of Deliveroo and, judging from the number of Deliveroo cyclists pedalling around my own town, it seems that staying in has become a new default choice rather than "popping down to the takeaway." How lazy! The deal needs to be ratified by the Competition and Markets Authority. I think Rory Cellan Jones has it right, this space is getting pretty crowded not.
