Is the war on diesel about to start?

It looks like the war on diesel is about to start, with the government apparently contemplating a range of policy options to tackle the nitrogen oxide emitted by these vehicles. A number of policy options are mentioned in this article and it makes for very interesting reading: there are lots of evaluative opportunities here.
