How the sharing economy is sweeping the world

The phenomenon of 'collaborative consumption' - where you rent things for limited time periods - is becoming increasingly popular. This Telegraph article looks at the extent to which it is prevalent across Europe, and the keenness of the Chancellor to embrace this model.
I enjoy looking at this sort of thing: it's quite an interesting thought experiment to think about the limits to collaborative consumption. Might you lease your school uniform in future, for example? And what are the efficiency implications of this? This is a great article with links to firms in the sharing economy.
