East coast rail line back under public control
25th June 2018
Is this the first step towards the renationalization of the railways - as the East coast mainline is taken back into public ownership? I doubt it: however, it does cast doubt over rail privatisation up to this point - it is the third time that the line has had to be taken back into public ownership. Hardly a ringing endorsement of the process, I'd say.
