What has been happening to UK inflation in the past decade?

Using the ONS inflation chart (scroll down to Figure 1), or copy this link https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/inflationandpriceindices/bulletins/consumerpriceinflation/february2026, then do these calculations:

  1. Compare February’s rate of CPI inflation to the peak and trough for inflation between Feb 2016 and Feb 2026.
  2. Explain how owner occupier housing costs (OOH) affect the difference between CPI and CPIH inflation.
