Great interactive graphic here coutesy of The New York Times looks at the basket of goods used to measure Consumer Price Inflation in the US and helps to illustrate the idea of weights. It zooms into the different categories and is colour coded to let us know how the prices of each good and service has changed. It’s important for students of economics to be able to interepret information and this definitely helps!
