A new exhibition on the changing UK industrial landscape

Geoff Riley

1st January 2014

Peter Marsh, formerly the manufacturing editor of the Financial Times, has let me know of the imminent launch of an unusual and interesting photographic project linked to the world of manufacturing. It's an exhibition of pictures of UK manufacturing operations taken by some of the world's top photographers and which will tour Britain from the end of January to September next year.

This Saturday's Financial Times weekend magazine ( Jan 4) will include a feature which discusses this project .The magazine Peter will have an article looking at the state of UK industry. You will also see in this feature some of the pictures that will be part of the exhibition . Teachers might be keen to purchase a copy of the magazine this week, or look up the article and pictures on FT.com when they are published - it promises to be an excellent resource when teaching the fast-changing economics of manufacturing industry.

The project is organised by Multistory, an arts organisation in Britain, with the involvement of the Magnum photo agency.
