This course is designed to support those that are new to teaching, or in the ealy stages of teaching the NCFE T-Level Health. It provides guidance, resources and approaches to support effective delivery of the qualification over the duration of the course from starting in Year 1, to completing in Year 2.

All teachers and departments delivering the NCFE T-Level Health and in particular those that are new to this qualification or in the early stages of delivery.

About the course

This course will provide practical guidance and resources to support centres and practitioners to set up and deliver the T-Level Health qualification. It is most suited to those that are new to this qualification or in the early stages of delivery, either as a whole centre or as a newly recruited or qualified teacher.

Drawing on the first hand experience of the hosts and exam board guidance, the day will answer the many questions you have about approaches to this qualification over the two year duration.

The day will offer opportunities to discuss and develop your approach to:

  • Promoting and recruiting to the course
  • Employer engagement and work experience
  • Staffing and timetabling the course over the two years
  • Curriculum planning and the scheduling of learning over the two years
  • Teaching and delivery of content

Your hosts

  • Laura Lowe

    Laura serves as the Head of the Department for Health & Social Care, Early Years, and Counselling at a large FE college in the North-West. As a wave 1 provider, she has played a pivotal role in the strategic planning and development of the T Level in Health since its inception. Following its launch, Laura has led efforts to establish and strengthen partnerships with the local NHS trust and council, ensuring high-quality, successful industry placements for students. In addition to her leadership in education, Laura brings extensive experience as an examiner for multiple awarding bodies. She possesses a wealth of sector knowledge, particularly in the fields of sexual health and supportive therapies.

  • Liz Blamire

    Liz is the tutor2u subject lead for two subjects: Health & Social Care and Early Childhood Development. She is a former NHS midwife who has worked in community, birth centre and acute hospital settings. Liz is an SSAT Accredited Lead Practitioner, who has taught Health & Social Care in FE and secondary schools, where she was a successful HOD. Liz has extensive experience in qualification development, assessment writing, examining and moderation, and is a textbook author. Liz has recently completed her MEd in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs, where she focused on the social, emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people.
