About the course
This course will provide practical guidance and resources to support centres and practitioners to set up and deliver the new 2022 specification BTEC Tech Award in Health & Social Care.
Drawing on the first hand experience and expertise of the hosts and recent moderator reports, the day will answer the many questions you have about successful approaches to this new qualification.
The primary focus will be on managing the new moderated internal assessment process and assessing learner work using the new levels-based marking grids. However, the final session will focus on how best to prepare students for the first exam series in Jan/Feb 2024, based on currently available information.

Lynne Fountain
Lynne is a regular contributor in the HSC team. She has taught Health and Social Care in FE and secondary schools since 2014. She has successfully led a large Social Sciences department at a girl's comprehensive school in London and she is an experienced examiner and moderator. Lynne is also a teacher of Sociology, with a first degree in Sociology and an MSc in Criminology. Prior to her teaching career, Lynne held a variety of roles for the Department of Education, the charity sector, youth justice and a large children's hospital, where she used her Post Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management to manage a forensic paediatric medical service.

Rachel Lang
Rachel has taught Health and Social Care in secondary schools since 2007 (including a period of time teaching VCE Health and Human Development in Australia). She has successfully led a thriving Health & Social Care Department at a girl's comprehensive school in London and she has been an examiner in Australia for Health and Human Development. Rachel is also a teacher of Physical Education, with a bachelor degree in Health Sciences and Education. Rachel has also delivered exam preparation training sessions for students. Prior to her teaching career, Rachel held a variety of roles in hospitality and the sports field of personal training.
