About the course

This course is focused on providing practical guidance and resources to help students maximise their assessment performance. Building on the popularity of our Teaching the New BTEC Tech Award CPD course, this brand-new course is a deep-dive into each component, equipping delegates with a wide-range of teaching strategies, resources and confidence for achieving student Success in the BTEC Tech Award internal and external assessments.

There will be opportunities to look at the demands of the Component 1 and Component 2 internal assessment tasks, alongside application of the Pearson mark schemes, and our subject experts will help to guide you on key areas to focus your teaching on to ensure success.

Drawing on the recommendations from recent examiner reports and their extensive knowledge of external assessment, our subject experts will also guide you on planning your teaching and equipping your students with the essential knowledge and skills to ensure maximum success in the Component 3 Health & Wellbeing exam in summer 2024.

Your hosts

  • Laura Godfrey

    Laura is a contributor in the HSC team. She has taught Health & Social Care in secondary schools since 2016. She has been leading a Health & Social Care Department at her secondary school and sixth form in Northamptonshire since 2017 and is an experienced moderator. Laura has a degree in Sociology and an MBA in Senior Leadership in Schools.

  • Lynne Fountain

    Lynne is a regular contributor in the HSC team. She has taught Health and Social Care in FE and secondary schools since 2014. She has successfully led a large Social Sciences department at a girl's comprehensive school in London and she is an experienced examiner and moderator. Lynne is also a teacher of Sociology, with a first degree in Sociology and an MSc in Criminology. Prior to her teaching career, Lynne held a variety of roles for the Department of Education, the charity sector, youth justice and a large children's hospital, where she used her Post Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management to manage a forensic paediatric medical service.
