The first task requires students to note down the formulae used to calculate the main ratios used for financial analysis – this might be used when first teaching the topic, or as a revision exercise.

Secondly, the students are given StarSports Agency plc’s Income Statements and Balance Sheets for two years of trading, and asked to find various pieces of information from it – but using different terms for the data than those that have been used on the financial accounts. This is to help them to recognise some of the alternative terminology that can be used in those accounts.

Finally, they are asked to calculate some of the ratios and to comment on what they indicate about the business.

Please note - this resource has separate versions for AQA & Edexcel - all included in the same download
