The Walnut Whip loses the Walnut

16th August 2017
American Airlines in 1987 saved $40k by removing an olive from each salad in 1st Class. Could the same cold commercial logic apply to the decision by Nestle to remove walnuts from their Walnut Whip?
So the Walnut Whip now becomes the Whip - albeit available in an expanded range of flavours including Delicate Vanilla and Delicious Caramel.
The cost of ingredients has been rising fast over the last 16 months, accentuated by the fall in the value of the pound after the Brexit vote. Would the result have been different had people known what would happen to walnuts in an uncertain post-Brexit world?
