McDonald’s to double number of China restaurants

8th August 2017
Citic and Carlyle recently bought a controlling interest in McDonald's China and Hong Kong operations for the next 20 years and they have announced ambitious plans to double the number of restaurants focusing mainly on (relatively) smaller and less prosperous Chinese cities.
Doubling the scale of an operation carries inevitable risks not least the logistical challenges of getting products across China's vast interior and the problems of maintaining quality control.
