How Tesco's 'doomsday exercise' helped it cope with the crisis

This is a look at how Tesco managed to cope with the panic buying of lockdown, and shift in shopping habits as a result of coronavirus.
In short, Business Management students will be interested to note the role of contingency planning in allowing the company to move to virtual meetings, and adapt its supply chain as the pandemic approached.
Even simple changes - like changing store opening hours, moving away from 24 hour opening and using this time to pick individual orders have all made a difference to the supermarket's ability to respond to the unusual demands made upon it.
