Can Fitness Gadgets Replace Personal Trainers?

As a keen user of fitness tracking devices I'm intrigued to see whether the increasing sophistication of such products might expand or in other ways change the traditional fitness market.
This short video from Bloomberg Business correspondent Aki Ito features some stunning footage of the quayside in San Francisco in addition to her assessment of a heart-rate tracking device that links to a smartphone-app based, virtual personal trainer.
Why pay £25+ per hour for a personal trainer to watch you exercise when you can launch a virtual trainer who is tracking what you do for just a fraction of the price?
